 Case Intro

Sensory toys are deeply experiential by nature, yet they are often merchandised in ways that flatten their value into packaging claims alone. The challenge was to:

#1. Translate intangible sensory benefits (Fidget, Focus, Calm) into a physical, intuitive experience.

#2. Design a booth that spoke simultaneously to children, parents, educators, and retail buyers.

#3. Create a solution that could live beyond a single trade show and evolve into a retail-ready installation.

The display needed to be playful enough to invite exploration, structured enough to educate adults, and strategic enough to drive wholesale conversations.

The Approach

Grounded in the brand’s world of Fiddleton and its character-driven storytelling, the exploration phase focused on answering one core question:

How do we let people feel the value of Fiddlelings before they ever read a single line of copy?

Key exploration pillars included:

  • Zoned experiences aligned to 'Fidgeters', 'Focusers', and 'Calmers'

 Key Takeaway

#1. Experiential Design Translates Emotion Into Understanding:

Sensory benefits can be difficult to communicate through packaging alone. By designing an environment where children could fidget, focus, and calm in real time, the booth transformed abstract claims into lived experiences creating instant understanding and emotional buy-in for both kids and adults.

This project reinforced the power of experiential design as both a storytelling and sales tool. When strategy, creativity, and execution align, a booth becomes more than a backdrop — it becomes a conversation starter, a learning environment, and a brand memory.

For me, this work represents design leadership, marketing strategy, and real-world build execution working in harmony to turn insight into physical, memorable experiences while ensuring that every square foot works harder, smarter, and more meaningfully for the brand.
